Patients choose to participate in research for a number of reasons. These include 1) wanting to contribute to science in a given area, 2) access to therapy that is otherwise not currently available, and 3) inability to afford current therapy options. Dr. Loftus participates in a number of trials from time to time. Areas of study have included neuropathic pain from diabetes, neuropathic pain from shingles, migraine, multiple sclerosis, and stroke.

The laws governing studies do not allow us to post specific information about each study until the posting is specifically IRB approved. Patients who are willing to travel to Houston to participate in studies can email me by topic. When a study is ready, we will email you back.
